Our People

Erik Schuckers, Manager

Erik is a former marching and jazz band nerd who has worked in both nonprofit and corporate management for many years. He writes and publishes poetry and nonfiction, and has a special interest in combining words and images through collage, Instagram, and zines. Degree: BA Allegheny College



Nancy Kirkwood, Workshop Assistant

Nancy’s main creative focus is in writing nonfiction and poetry. She also has a strong interest in eco-art and established The Workshop’s Recreate Wall to encourage creative reuse within the Pitt community. Nancy supports artists and eco-art in the Western Pennsylvania area as a volunteer for the Tess Senay Raynovich Eco Art Fund and teaches a nonfiction workshop for a women’s writing program. Degrees: MFA Carlow University (Creative Writing), BA University of Pittsburgh


Mike Campbell, Workshop Assistant

Mike is a student affairs practitioner and artist who aspires to use conceptual creative practices as a means to help students explore identity. His art background is in sculpture and ceramic, but he loves to experiment and explore with any media. His art is influenced by his own identity and interest in popular culture and technology. He is the Chair for the Pitt Queer Professionals and spends his free time playing league sports. Degrees: MEd University of Pittsburgh (Higher Education Manager), BA Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Studio Art)



Student Workers

Azize Altay Harvey ('20), Student Admin Assistant  Azize is a studio arts major and a board member of Rainbow Alliance, Pitt's LGBTQIA+ student organization, and volunteers in gallery spaces. She is a hands-on person who loves the process of creation, from making art to cooking food: the act of making for her is a way of finding fulfillment and decompressing stress and anxiety.

​Jada Gerz ('19), Student Admin Assistant  Jada is a piccolo player in the Pitt Band and is pursuing a degree in industrial engineering. She enjoys crafting of all types and has special interests in knitting, calligraphy, and painting.



Zaneta Franklin, Student Admin Assistant  Zaneta is a medical student who enjoys working with people and ideas, being creative, and promoting wellness through art and writing. She enjoys writing reflections, drawing/painting, and watching theatre performances. She loves to dance and is on the First Class Bhangra competitive team.

Jennifer Zheng, Student Admin Assistant

Kami Beckford ('21), Student Ambassador  Kami studies architecture and theatre arts and is pursuing a career in scenic design. She enjoys all types of theatre and dance performance, making collages, art museums (her favorite being the Whitney in NYC), and Muji pens.

Stephanie Jimenez ('21), Student Ambassador  Stephanie spent most of her life studying piano (solo, chamber, orchestral, and theatrical) but has recently begun to focus on recycle art with Florida Recycled and to explore mixing musical concepts with recycle art mediums. She is the Community Outreach Executive Board member for the Latinx Student Association, and is pursuing dual degrees in environmental science and global and popular music.

Caroline Kulczycky ('21), Student Ambassador  Caroline is a math major/studio arts minor with a passion for graphic design, soccer, and math proofs. She is the creator of the Feminist Math Zine, and enjoys exploring art museums in her free time.
