With decades of experience in the frenetic world of start-ups and innovation, Babs Carryer is a seasoned entrepreneur, writer, mentor, teacher, and sailor. As a serial technology entrepreneur, Babs has spent the bulk of her life creating and advising startups. In her first novel HD66: search for a cure or a killer?, she leverages her expertise to create a startup murder mystery. Set against the swirling Allegheny River in a town of technology startups and life sciences academic spin-offs, HD66 weaves together sober themes of incurable disease, unnecessary violence, and family.
Babs is currently director of education & outreach for the University of Pittsburgh’s Innovation Institute, where she develops and implements programs to encourage and support innovation and entrepreneurship across campus to all students, faculty, researchers and clinicians.
The Center for Creativity is proud to host the book launch for HD66 on Tuesday, April 18, at noon. Come meet Babs and hear her read from the book, and pick up a signed copy!
